Get to know Jazzy Toes Founder, Winnie Liu!

July 18th, 2011

This month, we are pleased to present a short Q&A with Jazzy Toes founder (and mom) Winnie Liu.  Jazzy Toes is five years old and in that time it has grown from a good idea into an internationally recognized company.  Winnie lets us in on some of the secret to her success:

Q:          What was the inspiration for you to start up Jazzy Toes?

WL:      When my son was born, I was looking for cute clothing for him, but I found that designs for boys were very limited, so I decided to launch JazzyToes to broaden the boys collection. Also, socks are something that all babies need, and you can never have enough socks, so we started from socks.

Q:           How do you decide what designs you will make and sell?

WL:       We decide on designs by thinking what design would fit well with certain outfits and themes. For instance, our sneakers are popular for daily wear, and the black and white wingtips are great when you dress up your little boy with a little suit for events like wedding or so.

Q:           What has been your biggest challenge in starting up and running Jazzy Toes?

WL:       Everything was more difficult than we thought, but I would say sales and marketing with limited budgets are most challenging.

Q:          What has been the biggest reward from starting up and running Jazzy Toes?

WL:      When celebrities like Amy Poehler called personally to place an order, I was ecstatic. I think it is most rewarding to see our brands everywhere in the world, to as far as Australia, UK, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

Q:          What tip can you give other women about running a business while being a mom?

WL:      Running business while being a mom is not easy. Having good back up help at home is a must. Having a great team is also very important.

Q:          What is the #1 piece of advice you would give any woman who is considering starting up her own business?

WL:       I think women by nature are very organized and can multi-task. I encourage women to start their own business to carry out their dreams.

5 Reasons Your Cutie Should Be Wearing Jazzy Toes

December 20th, 2010

We are extremely proud of our baby socks at Jazzy Toes.  We think they are the cutest, most comfortable solution for keeping your little ones’ toes warm while looking stylish.  But if you’re not convinced we have the best baby socks on the planet, check out these Five Reasons Your Cutie Should Be Wearing Jazzy Toes:

1.  Better for learning to walk

The American Association of Pediatrics has stated that babies do not need to wear shoes until they are actually able to walk.  In fact, hard soled shoes can actually inhibit a baby from learning to walk, so more and more parents are now switching to socks only or soft-soled shoes. This allows your little one to learn to balance more naturally as they take their first steps.

2.  Less expensive than buying several styles of shoes

One package of Jazzy Toes has several styles of socks that look like shoes and coordinate with many different outfits.  For the cost of one pair of quality shoes, you’ll have five times as many options!

3. Less expensive than buying several sizes of shoes

Furthermore, baby feet grow fast and you will have to buy a new pair as soon as your baby grows out of them.  But each style of our socks can expand for up to 12 months worth of wear.

4.  Comfort

Baby feet are tender!  Why force them into little shoes when they should be free?  Your baby will appreciate wearing socks much more than having their sweet little toes cramped into shoes that they don’t even need to wear in the first place.

5.  CUTE FACTOR

Your baby is cute, so why not take it to the limit and dress them head to toe in adorable baby style?  Jazzy Toes look just like little shoes, ranging in styles from joggers to loafers to flip flops–and they are guaranteed to make grandparents squeal with delight!
